There are 128 teams divided into 32 groups. The top two from each group advance to the knockout stage, with a single match until the final (in case of a draw, the dispute goes to penalties).
The decision is scheduled for January 25th, the anniversary of the city of São Paulo – but the location has not yet been announced.
