Result of the municipal elections in Maicena del Alcor in 2019
To this 28-M the popular Juan Manuel López arrived as mayor, who won the 2019 municipal elections with an absolute majority. The PP then obtained 4,883 votes, which represented 43.14% of the Mairen voters. López thus revalidated a mayoralty that he had reached in February of that same year, when the elected councilor, Ricardo Sánchez, was appointed delegate of the Government of the Junta de Andalucía in Seville.
The PSOE was the second political force in Mairena del Alcor, with 4,280 votes, which meant 37.81% of the ballots deposited in the polls that day. These votes helped him to gather nine councilors, but the possibility of forming a government with IU vanished, which only added one mayor. The left-wing federation got 627 votes, 5.80% of the total.
And four more parties were left without representation in the Mairenero Consistory. Andalucía por Sí gathered 424 votes (3.75%), Podemos obtained 361 (3.19%), Vox 321 (2.84%) and Ciudadanos 285 (2.52%). The PA left the Consistory and none of the new formations obtained any councillor.
This 28-M there are four parties that attended the elections. In addition to PP and PSOE, with Juan Manuel López and Pedro Madroñal Navarro, as candidates, respectively, the Maireneros will also be able to vote for José Manuel Morales Sánchez, who is running for Con Andalucía; and Eduardo Buendía Marín, for Vox.
Participation in 2019 was 64.08%, slightly lower than that of the 2015 elections, which was 64.78%. 11,468 citizens voted. Abstention was 35.92%, with 6,428 voters who did not go to the polls that day. There were 108 blank votes (0.95%) and 149 invalid ones (1.30%).
