Result Statement: Take care of children yourself | What you say

The majority of the participants (89%) think that the current allowance system in childcare should be revised, but many fear the negative effects of free childcare. “This plan encourages more people to have children, while it would be better for the world if fewer people were added,” thinks one of the respondents. “A child must be an informed choice, parents must be able to take care of the child. Financial, emotional and educational. ”

“Because of this plan, there is a danger that children will be dumped in shelters en masse and that the already mediocre upbringing will become completely scanty,” fears another. “As a result, parents will have even less contact with their children”, another respondent thinks. “As a result, more youth will be derailed and therefore more assistance will be necessary.”

What many respondents also object to is that the costs for the free childcare will be obtained from elsewhere. “Nothing is free, so not even free childcare. It is already the case that people who earn little pay almost nothing, so society already contributes a lot, ”someone argues.

“If you want children, you have to take responsibility yourself and not let people without children pay for it,” said one respondent. Many agree. “People who are consciously childless because of an overcrowded world are punished like this, when they should be rewarded. Children are no longer a necessity but more of a hobby. So pay for it yourself. ”

Many participants (65%) wonder at all why the government accommodates working parents. “If you decide to have kids you have to take care of them too. Now children are dumped at the shelter because they are just hand ties, ridiculous that something like that is reimbursed ”, someone responds.

The argument that free childcare will ultimately benefit the economy because more people can then work, is therefore not well received by many. “Only economic motives apply here,” someone sighs. “For many children, the daycare is a disaster with a very bad influence. It is much better to let mothers stay at home, especially with children with problems, which ultimately has much more social value. It is a misconception that working mothers are better off, only the state benefits. Parents are overburdened, peace is gone for the children, so a very bad plan, nobody looks at the children! ”

Proponents of free childcare, on the other hand, think that this reduces overload for parents. “This way more, especially young parents, can work without stress and grandpa and grandma can stay grandpa and grandma again.” Many of them also believe in the positive effect on the economy. “Free childcare should be an extension of primary education. Workers are the engine of the economy, ”he says. And: “Great if parents can continue to work in this way. Hopefully this will solve the shortages in education and care. ”
