Certain restrictions have been placed on the “morality police” (“Irshad patrols”) that carry out mandatory hijab inspections in Iran. SIA reports with reference to the Turkish press that according to the new regulation implemented in Iran, the “morality police” will only warn women who do not wear the hijab and will not be able to arrest them. Yagub Rizazadeh, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, made a statement about this.
He said that new rules regarding the “morality police” have come into force in the country and some restrictions have been imposed on the “morality police” who are responsible for carrying out mandatory hijab inspection in Iran.
“Those who do not close at all will only be warned and will not be detained or arrested. The cars belonging to the “Irshad patrols” stationed outside will serve as a warning,” he said.
According to Rizazadeh, who stated that cultural works will be carried out for the introduction of the mandatory hijab, the police stations of the “Irshad patrols” will not be the same as before.
