Restraint in Zurich: SLI under pressure at midday | 02.08.24

The SLI was down 3.16 percent at 1,937.60 points in SIX trading at 12:09 p.m. In Friday trading, the SLI was down 2.34 percent at 1,954.05 points, after 2,000.77 points the previous day.

The SLI reached its daily high at 1,962.82 units, while it reached its lowest level at 1,937.53 points.

SLI performance since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of the week, the SLI has recorded losses of 2.80 percent. One month ago, on July 2, 2024, the SLI recorded a value of 1,945.31 points. Three months ago, on May 2, 2024, the SLI was valued at 1,832.75 points. One year ago, on August 2, 2023, the SLI was still at 1,765.98 points.

The index has already climbed by 9.87 percent since the beginning of 2024. The SLI annual high is currently at 2,009.70 points. The annual low, however, was recorded at 1,742.94 points.

SLI winners and losers

The top stocks in the SLI are currently Lindt (-0.09 percent to 11,000.00 CHF), Nestlé (-0.25 percent to 88.92 CHF), Roche (-0.98 percent to 283.00 CHF), Swisscom (-1.49 percent to 530.00 CHF) and Novartis (-1.77 percent to 96.84 CHF). The weakest SLI stocks, however, are VAT (-8.97 percent to 400.80 CHF), ABB (Asea Brown Boveri) (-7.15 percent to 45.29 CHF), UBS (-6.79 percent to 24.85 CHF), ams (-6.23 percent to 1.11 CHF) and Holcim (-5.45 percent to 77.76 CHF).

The most expensive companies in the SLI

UBS shares currently have the largest trading volume in the SLI. 4,450,317 shares were recently traded on the home exchange. Weighted by market capitalization, Nestlé shares make up the largest share in the SLI with 243,327 billion euros.

These dividends are paid by SLI members

According to FactSet estimates, Swiss Re shares will have the lowest price-earnings ratio (P/E) among the SLI stocks in 2024 at 9.39. In the index, Swiss Re shares are expected to offer the highest dividend yield of 5.99 percent in 2024, according to FactSet estimates.
