The Justice League Zack Snyder continues to be a topic of conversation. Just as the film is the most watched content in the young history of the HBO Max platform, the topic and hashtag #RestoreTheSnyderverse is already the most repeated in the history of entertainment.

#RestoreTheSnyderverse was repeated 1.5 million times on Twitter in just 24 hours. That number exceeds #AvengersEndgame, repeated 1.4 million times in one day and #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, repeated 1 million times in the same period of time.

DC fans have been very active supporting the film version of their heroes as conceived by Zack Snyder since 2017. In that year a cut was released that did not respect the original idea of Snyder, who left production before finishing it. The Justice League that premiered that year was directed by Joss Whedon, the filmmaker behind the Avengers film series, Marvel’s star franchise.

On Change.org there is a petition to restore the so-called “Snyderverse”, the film versions of the DC universe (headed by characters like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman) directed by Snyder.

The petition urges Waner Bros., the company that makes the DC tapes, to respect the wishes of Snyder fans. “What fans consider canonical is canonical.” That is, if fans support Snyder’s versions, that means those versions must be the authoritative ones. And Warner Bros. must respect the fandom.

The success of the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign, spearheaded by fans who clamored for the premiere of Snyder’s original version of Justice League has empowered fans. #RestoreTheSnyderverse is the most effective outcome and advertising campaign DC Comics could wish for.
