Restoration of Communication: NASA’s Voyager 2 Reconnects with Earth from 12 Billion Miles Away

NASA originally expected that the connection with the device billions of kilometers from Earth would be restored only in October, when the systems would automatically restart. Finally, thanks to a very strong signal sent to the probe, it was possible to get its antenna to point towards Earth again, which led to the restoration of communication.

Voyager 2, now 12 billion miles from Earth, launched from Florida in 1977 to explore the Solar System, especially Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

It entered interstellar space in 2018. Just a few weeks after it, NASA sent Voyager 1 into space, which is 24 billion kilometers from Earth, making it the farthest human-made object from our planet.
