According to the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Self-Employed Persons of the Czech Republic (AMSP CR), it is very important for the gastronomic segment to receive support not only at the time of reduction and closure of operations, but also in the following period. Wage subsidies, rents and other support measures will help some businesses survive the difficult times, but then it is necessary to attract customers.
Meal companies such as Sodexo, Enderned and UP have already responded to the association’s call to relieve the affected operations. The support does not only consist in reducing commissions, according to the AMSP CR it is also, for example, cash back, which is to attract customers back to restaurants.
Cash back is a program where the customer has the opportunity to get back sometimes a few percent of the completed purchase. When using meal vouchers, customers should get some money back from providers for eating out.
Various support programs for food stamp companies are aimed at attracting customers to restaurants, and according to the AMSP CR, the state should also aim for the same goal.
“We therefore want to continue our efforts to temporarily reduce VAT on catering services, legalize tips and adjust the planned catering flat rate to ensure its purposefulness. a lump sum for a time of prosperity, “said Luboš Kastner, the guarantor of the My AMSP ČR project.
“According to a study by the Institute of Property Valuation at the University of Economics, the current proposal for a non-purpose catering flat rate would mean a reduction in sales for the gastronomy sector of 35 billion crowns, which goes against the support we are trying to provide to the gastronomy sector,” Kastner added.
