New York will relax a number of rules in connection with the coronavirus epidemic from Monday. The current figures allow the megalopolis to begin the second phase of deconfinement, said the mayor of the city Bill de Blasio on Thursday.
During this second phase of the four planned, offices and small businesses will reopen their doors. The some 27,000 Big Apple restaurants will once again be able to serve their customers on the terrace while hairdressers will be able to reopen their salons, provided they are working at 50% of their capacity.

The rules of social distancing as well as hygiene measures will continue to apply everywhere.
New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo said he was optimistic Thursday. New York has long been the epicenter of the pandemic in the United States. In recent weeks, however, the number of infections has steadily declined there. At the height of the crisis, up to 800 people were dying every day. Today there are about two dozen. The virus’s reproduction rate (which indicates how many other people are infected with someone) has fallen to 0.8, one of the lowest in the United States.
