And restaurateurs will go on strike on May 18, organized by employers’ organizations. This is clear from a message on the official Facebook page of the Association of Restaurants in Bulgaria (SBA).
It says:
In connection with the organization of the National Protest of the five nationally representative employers’ organizations – CEIBG, BICA, BIA, BCCI and SSE
with a request to the government for:
– IMMEDIATE COMPENSATION FOR EXTREMELY HIGH PRICES FOR ELECTRICITY AND NATURAL GAS
– STOPPING THE UNIFICATION OF THE NATION
In view of the organization for the protest, we inform you that it will be held on May 18, 2022 / Wednesday /, from 12:00 to 17:00, in front of the Council of Ministers (Blvd. “Prince Alexander Dondukov” №) 1), where the meeting point of the participants will be.
Let us be united on this day and together protect the interests of business and workers in Bulgaria.

Earlier it became clear that employers’ organizations are organizing a national protest on May 18. The large-scale national protest of the carriers was also announced for this date.
“Fuel and electricity prices have reached unaffordable levels for the majority of non-household consumers. The price chain has led to avalanche of inflation, which with each passing day eats away at the income of every Bulgarian citizen, “said the position of the organizations.
According to them, the state treats the business, from whose taxes it is supported, as a beggar waiting for alms.
They claim that the proclaimed “measures” in support of business are in fact many times less than announced and are extremely insufficient, untimely and ineffective.
“Business does not want help – business wants a peaceful environment in which to earn money, maintain jobs and create goods. The business wants security and predictability of the deliveries and the prices of the raw materials and return with appropriate measures to what is surpassed at the source – the enterprises and the people “, the employers announced in the reasons for convening the national protest.
