Tijuana.-This Wednesday afternoon, 162,630 doses of Pfizer and 2,400 of Sinovac arrived in the state, for which as of today vaccination will restart in Tijuana, informed the Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico.

He stressed that the biological will only be for those citizens who are waiting for their second dose, and who have spent more than 21 days since the application of the first.

“There will not be 100% vaccination in the population, because we know that there is a percentage of rejection, and there are all the people who were vaccinated in the United States, which cannot be quantified, but we do intend to reach above 80%” , he stressed.

On another issue, he acknowledged that the Delta variant is already likely to be circulating in the state, although he ruled out that it is a point of concern, since in the state there will always be measures to deal with this and other strains.

Similarly, he pointed out that it is still unknown if those who were vaccinated with Sinovac and Cansino will be prohibited from crossing into the United States.

“We are going to wait for the panel of experts to determine which vaccines are, we must not rush. Cansino is a good vaccine, rest assured, it is about saving lives, not that they could cross into the United States, “he said.

He indicated that Baja California increased its active cases, 354 in total, divided as follows: Mexicali: 148, Tijuana: 114, Ensenada: 62, San Quintín: eight, Playas de Rosarito: seven, Tecate: 12 and San Felipe: three .

Currently, the Covid hospital occupancy in Baja California is 29.64%, with 217 available beds, 268 available ventilators, 76 hospitalized patients and the effective reproduction rate of 0.99.
