Rest with pleasure and without complaints. How to enjoy Egypt’s resorts

A millennium of civilization and grandeur. It was once. Eternal summer and sun – with it Egypt now attracts Nordic tourists thirsty for warmth and relaxation. The Internet is flooded with reviews of Egyptian resorts, which are often very contradictory. Someone scrunches his nose, shrugs and claims “never again”, another has been vacationing in the same hotel every year for 15 years. One thing is clear – this is not and will never be Europe, Egypt has a different understanding. For many things.

Getting to the Egyptian sun is easier than simple – all you have to do is choose one of the offers of travel companies. It is wiser to take one of the most well-known companies, so that it is not “as usual” when you bid for 300 euros a week in a six-star hotel with a full charter, but in reality you end up in a shabby hotel on the “fifth line” of the beach. Of course, I’m exaggerating, but there are already some.

The next most difficult task after choosing a hotel was choosing the clothes to bring. When you go to Italy or Spain, everything is clear, but about Egypt, as I already mentioned, the information is very contradictory. Take a look at “Facebook” in Latvian travel groups – when advice is asked, there are diametrically opposite experiences in the comments! Some say that they have been sitting wrapped up in windbreakers and hats for the whole week, while others have not got out of their bathing suits. Being a cautious pessimist, I believed more in those who said it was cold, but in reality it turned out that the weather forecast of +21 degrees is a bright sunny and hot morning, and the last thing you want to wear is jeans and a sweater (which I took for three !). I even put woolen socks on – in case it will be cold at night in unheated hotels, and I’m always freezing! Ha! Already on the first day I was ready to exchange them for the shorts I left at home…
