The reason for excluding Messi from the list of Paris Saint-Germain championship cup?
Christophe Galtier, coach of Paris Saint-Germain, decided to exclude Argentine star Lionel Messi from the list of the Parisian team that will face the Paye de Castel team, which plays in the sixth division in the 32nd round of the French Cup.
The coach gave Messi a rest due to his physical loads, as the Argentine striker played only one hour since the 2022 Qatar World Cup final, during the friendly match between Paris Saint-Germain against Al-Nasr and Al-Hilal in the Riyadh season.
The club did not announce that there was a problem or injury to Messi, and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was also not on the list.
Most of Paris Saint-Germain’s focus turned to the Champions League match with Bayern Munich on February 14th.
It is expected that the French team will rotate the players during this period, before the important match in the Champions League.
And Galtier insisted, during his statements at the match’s press conference, that Paris Saint-Germain would not play much against Pays de Castel.
“The best possible team will be involved and it would be foolish for him to switch,” said the PSG coach.
Messi will have a day off until tomorrow, Monday, but will return to the team to continue its matches in the French League, which will resume next Sunday.
Paris Saint-Germain will face its counterpart, Paye de Castel, tomorrow, Monday evening.
