An Austrian insurance company did a survey. The result: climate protection is very important to people. However, only 12% believe that they can do something about climate change themselves. Politics is responsible for it. Europe cannot do much as long as China alone is responsible for 28% of greenhouse gas emissions. Many say. Without thinking that coal-powered factories there produce huge amounts of goods for us. Air and sea transports of huge proportions are connected with this. COP26 in Glasgow showed that politics is not really making headway. We have to take responsibility ourselves. What can we do now: Buy a Vorarlberg annual ticket for public transport for 355 euros. Then leave the car as much as possible and switch to public transport. Especially to the workplace and back, wherever possible, even if it takes a quarter of an hour longer. Let us use the excellent public transport network in the country. Cycling for distances of up to six kilometers should become the norm. This is how we immediately reduce our CO2 emissions. There is no need for a climate conference. Let’s do it now, presumably this change, this transformation in traffic will take place in the near future. In addition to many changes that have to come in order to stop climate change.
