Lucia continued: “I always tell the students who come to visit us that it is sufficient to bring basic necessities to Caritas, such as salt, sugar, dishwashing liquid, shower gel and other daily necessities”. “Our desire is to try to give warmth to people, who may have lost some of this warmth due to the difficulties of daily life,” said Mrs. Antonella Rota, who works at the cash desk.
The urgency of the care action is confirmed by the number of people who turn to the Caritas assistance shop, because the difficulties are ever greater. Lucia said: “More than 100 families come to us every day to buy.” Furthermore, many Italians cannot escape poverty, for which they have to go back to the shops many times.
