Played together for the Dodgers since mid-2017 “We’re good friends”
Padres pitcher Yu Darvish will start in Game 2 of the district series against his former home Dodgers on the 12th (Japan time 13th). Pitcher Clayton Kershaw said: “Including the pitch, I respect Darvish. It will be a tough challenge for us.”
The two have been wearing the same uniform since mid-2017, and their home in Dallas is about five minutes away. The southpaw with 197 total wins said: “Darvish is a good friend. We played together in Dallas during the off-season. We played together in the second half of the season.” It was the seventh game of the 2017 season, so I’m sure Yu felt the same way, “recalling the 2017 defeat against the Astros.
Darvish also said of the launch with Kershaw: “I am happy and proud to be able to launch again on a stage like this.” I wonder what kind of confrontation the two arms will show on the big stage.
