Resolution Reached: Changes to Russian History Textbooks Addressed after Uproar

The issue of making changes to Russian history textbooks has been resolved, said the head of the Chechen parliament, Magomed Daudov.

As Daudov noted, the updated Russian history textbook for grades 10-11 “caused a wave of indignation” among representatives of peoples repressed in the USSR, and the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov instructed him to “understand such an important issue.”

“I brought this topic to the head of the presidential administration’s department for domestic policy Andrey Yaryna. Andrei Veniaminovich, in turn, immediately responded and gave appropriate instructions. I also conveyed Ramzan Akhmatovich’s position to the author of the textbook Vladimir Medinsky, who admitted that this chapter was taken without changes from previous editions and assured of his readiness to put it in order. The position of the Minister of Education was equally decisive on this issue. Sergey Kravtsov. For everyone who was worried about this topic, I want to inform you that a working group has been created from among the heads of the regions whose peoples were repressed, and proposals for inclusion in the specified chapter of the textbook will be agreed upon with it,” stated head of the Chechen parliament.

According to him, “thousands of representatives of repressed peoples made a huge contribution to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, fighting on all fronts with the occupiers,” “and today, when the country again had to fight the Nazi-Satanist evil spirits within the framework of the Northern Military District, our brothers stand shoulder to shoulder together with other peoples of Russia, they stand in defense of its interests.”

“Thanks to the competent national policy of the president of the country Vladimir Putin Each of the peoples of the Russian Federation feels their national, religious and cultural security. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief has repeatedly emphasized that the eviction of peoples was a crime,” Daudov noted.

He also drew attention to the fact that there are some “public figures” who are “trying to shake up the situation on this topic.”

“I want to reassure everyone, this issue has been resolved and justice has been restored!” – concluded Daudov.
