At the same time, the publication Aamaj News reported that the Taliban in Panjshir killed the older brother of the former first vice-president of Afghanistan, Amrullah Saleh, Ruhollah Azizi. According to the source, Azizi was detained and shot dead the night before in Rukha district.

As indicated, Azizi tried to leave Panjshir for Kabul, but was identified and tortured.
