Flash floods affected hundreds of homes in five villages in Sukanagara district, Cianjur, West Java. Residents who saw the event tell seconds Flash floods crash.
Reported detikjabar, Friday (16/12/2022), the flood occurred at 15.00 WIB with a water level of 30 centimeters. At 17.00 WIB, the flood suddenly hit the settlements of the residents.
The water level in the villages near the river reaches almost 2 meters.
“The floods suddenly became big, the flood waters came. Then the river overflowed and submerged the houses here. Around my house the water level was almost 2 meters. Near the main road, the height was about 1 meter,” said a resident of Pos Villaggio, Sukanagara Village, Rina Triana (58).
Rina said that floods occur almost every year due to the overflowing of the Cibala River in Sukanagara district. However, he said, the floods were the worst this time around.
“This is the worst. In previous years, the water never entered the house. Now it not only enters the house, but also the mattresses, the wardrobes, until the damaged electronic items are submerged,” he said.
