– It is important to emphasize that we are at a stage where we are still working to find the cause of the fire. We do not know if the fire started as a result of a criminal act, says police attorney Are Nygård Bergh to Bergens Tidende.
The three residents were given interrogation on the spot as suspects when the block burned on Lonemarka in Arna on the night of Saturday 7 August.
On Monday, Bergh answers to BT that the three are specifically suspected of having started the fire.
– If something criminal has happened, the suspects do not have to have anything to do with it, he points out.
Wednesday last week was Kripos in place on the fire site with a criminal search dog, which is trained to search for flammable liquid.
A total of 24 residential units were completely destroyed when the explosive fire spread at high speed in the apartment block.
The West police district then stated that they were investigating broadly, with one of the hypotheses that the fire had been started.
