In Transnistria, the press tells the stories of residents of the self-proclaimed republic who complain about the loss of the opportunity to travel to the territory of Ukraine in Transnistrian numbers. In particular, a report on this was published by the local Russian-language edition PGTRK.
Moldova agreed with Ukraine to ban the entry of cars with the symbols of the self-proclaimed PMR from January 1, 2020. Then, at the request of Chisinau, Kiev postponed the entry into force of this decision to April 1, 2021, and then – to September 1, 2021.
In mid-August, Moldovan President Maia Sandu promised Russia that “there will be no blockade of the PMR” and asked Kiev for a postponement, but since September 1, the Ukrainian authorities have banned the entry of Pridnestrovian cars with registration plates of the self-proclaimed republic.
