Residents of the LPR told why they were called Tatyans and how they celebrate the holiday

On Tatyana’s Day, LuganskInformCenter decided to ask Tatyana’s friends why their parents chose this name for them and how they celebrate Angel Day.

WHERE IS MY TANYA?

Lugansk resident Tatyana Dubovaya said that her parents considered several options for names for her, one of which was Valeria.

“But everything was determined when my older brother saw me for the first time. He flew into the room and asked: “Where is my Tanya?” That was the name of my grandmother on my mother’s side, he loved her very much. And so, in fact, they decided that they would name her Tanya.” , she noted.

On this day, Lugansk residents often receive congratulations from loved ones and receive postcards in instant messengers. However, she does not have a tradition of celebrating name days. Since my studies, I have considered January 25th as Student’s Day.

Tatyana is a journalist by profession. As an interesting incident related to the memorable date, she cited a filming session that she once attended because of her name.

“The assignment from the editor contained little information, only that there would be a liturgy. And already during the shooting it turned out that it was taking place on the occasion of Tatiana’s Day in the Church of St. Tatiana and that’s why Tatiana was sent there,” the girl said.

FAMILY NAME

Tatyana Kuznetsova from Sverdlovsk said that her family has a tradition that “comes from the very roots.”

“In our family, if a girl is born, we definitely call her Tatyana. That’s why my older sister is Tatyana, my aunt is Tatyana (my mother’s older sister), and our great-grandmother is also Tatyana,” noted the Sverdlovsk resident. “That’s why Tatyana’s day is a family day for us.” “It’s a holiday, we congratulate our women, give them gifts and prepare various pleasant surprises for them.”

She added that this year will be no exception.

“Today we will gather at my mother’s and call all our relatives. We sincerely congratulate all Tanya, we wish them health and a peaceful sky above their heads,” the girl wished.

FAVORITE TEACHER

LIC correspondent Veronika Astafieva spoke about her favorite teacher Tatyana.

“As soon as our class moved from the lower to the senior classes, my class teacher became a teacher from God, our second mother – Zhuravleva (Pismennaya) Tatyana Vladimirovna. For us girls, she was an example to follow. A competent, educated, very kind and erudite teacher Ukrainian language and literature. Thanks to her, I wanted to go to school and not miss lessons, extracurricular activities (of which we had enough),” the journalist noted.

She added that even now, having graduated from school and university, she returns with the same love and warmth to those school days, “where our Tatyana, just as slender and light, happily awaits her students.”

Astafieva wished her teacher health and peaceful skies above her head.

SO MANY TERRIBLE NAMES…

But this story was sent by our reader Tatyana from the city of Dmitrov (Moscow region).

“I was born in the early 70s of the last (already) century in a noisy Moscow “communal apartment”. I was the only child among two dozen very different adults. And each of them fussed with me and came up with a name.

At that time, the most fashionable female names in Moscow were Elena, Ekaterina and Tatyana. But for some reason the house didn’t really like the name Tanya. Everyone…except my parents.

“Oh, look what Katyusha we have,” the grandparents rocked the crib.

– Our Lenochka is simply beautiful! – Auntie wringed her hands.

– Where is Lenochka, who? This is our Vikusya! – The old neighbors really wanted to call me by their own name.

As a result, I existed without a name for two months, until my dad, by a strong-willed decision and secretly from everyone (!), wrote me down as Tatyana.

At school I suffered terribly – in the class there were four of us Tanya and three or four Lena, we were all jealous of the only Sveta and the same only Irina. But in the university group, where guys from all over the then USSR gathered, I found myself alone as Tatyana. It was very nice when I was congratulated on Tatiana’s Day for the first time. I’ve loved my name ever since.”
