Advisor to the “head” of the annexed Crimea Oleg Kryuchkov commented what happened. “Everyone should understand that we live in a different reality where aircraft are switching to supersonic, air defense and electronic warfare are working,” he said, without specifying what exactly caused such a sound.
It is not yet possible to verify information about explosions from other sources.
On the night of March 1, explosions were also heard from different areas in the north and west of the peninsula. The Russian Defense Ministry announced a massive attack by drones. “Six Ukrainian strike unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems. Another four Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were disabled by electronic warfare. No casualties and destruction were allowed on the ground,” – says in a departmental announcement.
On February 28, five cases of drone attacks on Russian cities were recorded. Drones were spotted in the vicinity of Kolomna near Moscow, near the Voskresensk gas compressor station, as well as in the Belgorod region, in the Bryansk region, in Adygea and in Tuapse, where two drones attacked the Rosneft oil depot.
Telegram channels also reported that drones attacked the airfield in Yeysk in the Krasnodar Territory. The project “Schemes” of the Ukrainian service of Radio Liberty published satellite images dated March 1, which show the consequences of a fire on the territory of an air defense range located to the west of the airfield. Whether the airfield itself was damaged is still unknown, the satellite did not record what it looks like.
