Pamulang –
A number of residents who live in the Pondok Cabe Udik Village area, Pamulang, South Tangerang, urged the government South Tangerang City Government to deal with immediately rubbish that has accumulated in its territory. They were disturbed by the pungent smell of garbage emitted by the pile of garbage.
This protest was conveyed by a resident of Pondok Cabe Udik, Dino. He admitted that he was disturbed by the piles of garbage that were just thrown away on the side of the toll road that connects Pondok Cabe-Cinere.
“‘The smell emitted by the pile of garbage is very pungent and disturbing residents. Not only the environment, but socially and economically disturbed,” said Dino in his statement, Monday (13/3/2023).
Dino revealed that previously residents had sent a petition letter addressed to the Pondok Cabe Udik Urban Village Head and copied to the Environment Agency, Satpol PP, and other related agencies. However, according to him, until now there has been no response to the protest letter regarding the existence of the garbage.
“Residents urge the lurah, KLH Service, Satpol PP, and the municipal government to ban waste disposal activities and find solutions so that the smell of garbage does not disturb residents,” explained Dino.
Meanwhile, the Head of RT 4 RW 01, Pondok Cabe Udik Urban Village, Rollies, explained that there were two areas, namely RW 1 and RW 11, which were directly affected by the garbage disposal. Not only residents, a number of eating establishments such as cafes, restaurants and warteg are affected by the pungent smell.
“Residents asked that the garbage disposal activity be stopped and sealed,” said Rollies.
In addition, he is worried because the temporary waste disposal site (TPS) is right above the Pertamina gas pipeline which he considers to have the potential to endanger residents. Rollies suspects that the garbage came from South Tangsel and its surroundings.
