Ukrainians are expecting a new blow to their wallets – in one of the cities they are discussing an increase in travel fares. This is evidenced by information published on website city council.
Local authorities are discussing the issue of increasing fares on city bus routes. The price increase will affect residents of the city of Lubny in the Poltava region.

The move to revise current tariffs is justified by the rise in prices of fuels and lubricants, as well as an increase in the minimum wage and the cost of spare parts for vehicles.
“Objective changes in the state’s economy, namely: increases in prices for fuels and lubricants, spare parts and an increase in the minimum wage may become a prerequisite for a re-review of current tariffs for passenger transportation services“, the message says.

The price increase has not yet been approved, but this could happen in the near future. At the same time, it is not yet known to what level the tariff may be raised. At the moment, travel for residents costs 12 hryvnia, and the tariff was last revised on February 1, 2023.
