Adriano Celentano is a whole period of film and music history. His songs are heard all over the world, his words are echoed by full stadiums, and millions of viewers have admired his movie roles. This year, Adriano Celentano turned 85 years old and ended his active concert activity. However, fans of his work can enjoy Adriano’s official second-in-command – Adolfo Sebastiani.

The childhood of the watchmaker’s assistant was poor

We can confidently call Adriano Celentano one of the symbols of modern Italy. He turned 85 on January 6, 2023. And although the last film in which he acted was released in 1992, Adrian’s global fame does not fade.

Adriano is loved and known all over the world: by some for his tear-jerking comedies, by others – for his chic voice, by others – for his unique sense of humor.

Adriano was born in Milan on Befana’s day, which year-old children receive many gifts from Befana, the good witch flying on a broom, and in Italy it is a day of laughter, joy and jokes. Having four brothers and a sister, Adriano is the youngest in his family, which lived in extreme poverty.

So the future actor dropped out of school at the age of 12 and got a job as a watchmaker’s assistant. Adriano has distinguished himself as an actor since childhood. For example, he often imitated the famous American comedian Jerry Lewis, so one day Adrian’s sister sent a photo of her brother to a second-person contest. Adriano won this competition and received a prize of 100,000 lira.

More than 600 songs

Adriano Celentano has starred in more than 40 films. And during his acting career, he appeared in various roles before the audience. One of the most unexpected tasks was to play the role of a monkey-man in the movie “Bingo-Bongo”, because the actor hardly had to learn words: the character only made inarticulate sounds.

True, Adriano calls himself more of a singer than an actor. And he reached impressive heights in the music scene.

Adriano Celentano became one of the first rock and roll and rap artists to sing in Italian. Back in the early 1970s, he recorded a composition of made-up and meaningless words “Prisencolinensinainciusol” in order to show the division of people. Musical recitation became one of Adrian’s first rap experiments. By the way, “Prisencolinensinainciusol” stayed at the top of the European charts for a long time and even entered the list of the most popular songs in the United States. And in some other songs, Celentano used his own invented mixture of English and Italian, “celentanesco”.

During his creative period, Adriano recorded more than 600 albums and 30 albums. The whole world was “conquered” by Celentano’s hits – “Susanna”, “Amore No”, “Il Tempo Se Ne Va”, “Soli”, “Azzurro”, “Una Festa Sui Prati”, “Ciao Ragazzi” and many others.

Wife, mother, inspiration, director

He met his wife, actress Claudia Mori, on the set of “Some Strange Type”. She was not yet 20 then – Claudia is 6 years younger than Adrian. She immediately began to show attention to the girl, invited her on a date, but Claudia was pushed away for a long time by Celentan’s reputation as a “lovelas” and a hooligan. However, now the spouses have been living together for 56 years. During this time, Claudia became not only a wife and mother, but also a counselor and educator. She created his image, was a manager, promoter, and inspiration. Also, Claudia is the director of their family’s sound studio, Clan Celentano.

Claudia and Adriano have three children: daughters Rosita, Rosalinda and son Giacomo. All three are following in their parents’ footsteps. Rosita acted in the cinema, now she has become a radio host, Giacomo is an actor and singer, and Rosalinda is an actress and artist.

Similar appearance, height, build, weight and voice

Adriano is still involved in music: in 2019, he released a music album called Adrian, which is the soundtrack of his new “baby”, the cyberpunk animated series Adrian. Adriano Celentano is the director, organizer and screenwriter of this project.

However, the stage legend stopped active concert activity, especially outside of Italy. After all, Adriano is experiencing aerophobia – the fear of flying by plane.

In 2002, the signing of the contract with Adriano Celentano’s official deputy: Adolfo Sebastiani was announced. It was he who had to perform some of Adrian’s duties and relieve the celebrity from some “current” affairs.

It is not only the similarity of Adrian and Adolf’s appearance and voice that is incredible. In his homeland, Adriano Celentano received the nickname Molleggiato – which can be translated as “on springs” – for his movement and behavior on stage. Adolfo completely adopted Adrian’s exceptional behavior. Sebastian’s sincere communication with the audience and photo sessions in the image of Adriano Celentan also create an aura in his concerts.

Adriano Celentano Tribute and Adolfo Sebastiani concerts will take place on April 1 – at the Alytus Cultural Center, on April 2 at the “Kalnapilis” arena in Panevėžys, on April 3 at the Great Hall of VDU in Kaunas, on April 5 at the Palanga Concert Hall and on April 6 at the “Compensa” concert hall In Vilnius.
