Residents of Bogor at the first suspicion have a leech in their nose

Jakarta

A resident of Sukamakmur, Bogor Regency, West Java, with the initials JM (22) was surprised by this leech about the size of a thumb that fits into his nose. JM’s suspicions started when she had a nosebleed two weeks after the leech got in.

“After 2 weeks, how come his nose was bleeding from a nosebleed? It turned out that he had leeches,” Sukamakmur Health Center official Teguh Yudiana said when contacted by reporters on Saturday (7/1/2023 ).

JM also suspected that something was moving in his nose. He was then escorted by his friend to Puskesmas to check it out.

“Yes, I heard someone moving. Then he went to the Puskesmas with his friend, it turned out he could see well, he was immediately given the action, thank God he was shot,” added Teguh.

When the leeches stuck to his nose, JM was washing his face in the rice paddies. He hadn’t noticed that the leech had entered his nose.

“Initially, I washed my face in the rice fields, when I washed my face, I knew someone had entered but I didn’t notice anyone had entered,” he said.

Teguh initially suspected that the leech was not the size of a thumb. However, as it had been in JM’s nose for a long time, the leech grew.

“The leech is still alive, I think it was small when it came in. The leech sucked up the blood, so it got big,” she said.

Fortunately, the leech did not enter JM’s respiratory tract. Teguh said JM’s condition has now improved.
