Dozens of residents of Mubarak village, affiliated to the Bani Ubaid Center, staged a sit-in, today, inside the health unit in the village, to protest the absence of doctors and nursing and the lack of health services in the unit.

“We are a poor village and we totally depend on the health unit, and unfortunately every day people come and return, there are no doctors, no nurses, or medicines in the unit,” said Muhammad Abdullah, a young man from the village. “Patients come and meet for hours, and because the patient goes to Bani Obeid Hospital or Mansoura, he has to travel a long distance. And the patient will die on the way. ”

He added: “We did not find anyone to reveal us, and we contacted more than once with the Crisis Management in the Dakahlia Governorate and the Health Directorate. There is no life for those who called. The governorate was satisfied with sending an employee from the Bani Obeid City Council to close the absent doctors and nurses without finding an alternative to sign a medical examination for patients crowded with the unit and unfortunately there is an outbreak There are diseases among the people, and we are all afraid that it will be in Corona patients, and we do not know and mix with each other is normal. ”

And he called for an immediate investigation into the frequent absence of doctors and nursing and finding an alternative to save the lives of patients, saying: “Doctors say that the distance is far, and because of this, no one will come and the responsibility of the Health Directorate is that it solves the problem. It is not reasonable for the state to operate a building and medical equipment and appoint doctors and nurses and no one goes because the health officials in Dakahlia They are sitting in their offices and not following what is happening while we are in an epidemic, and it is necessary to be concerned.

For his part, a responsible source in the Bani Ubaid City Council revealed that the follow-up department is sent to the health unit and the absentees are recorded and sealed in the attendance books, then a note is sent to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and the Governorate to take the necessary measures against them, and the last of them was proven to be the absence of more than 60% of the unit’s strength.
