Residents in Stand Bayam Village, North Jakarta, Hold Audience with JakPro and Government

Jakarta

A number of residents were forced to occupy it Village Susun Bayam, North Jakarta, was policed by PT Jakarta Propertindo (JakPro) on suspicion of land trespassing. JakPro, the North Jakarta City Government, and the residents held an audience.

The hearing took place at the Mayor of North Jakarta, Friday (19/1/2024). The resident representative, Furqon, who took part in the hearing, said there had been no decision after the meeting.

“What is clear is that there has been no decision regarding a second dialogue, we also don’t understand even though it is clear that we have been abandoned. What’s good is that Village Susun Bayam “That’s how we chat in clearer detail, it’s nice,” said Furqon to reporters, Friday (19/1).

Furqon said that the North Jakarta City Government was represented by the North Jakarta City Administration Secretary. He regretted that the meeting was not attended by the JakPro Board of Directors.

“In fact, initially we, I wrote in a letter on the 10th yesterday, were facilitated by what… The Acting Governor was actually transferred to the Mayor, and the Mayor was only the City Secretary and also the government assistant, then the police, PT Jakarta Propertindo, not the directors either, this was in “We just brought it downstairs and played with it,” he said.

Furqon also responded to the report to the police made by JakPro. According to him, this is a crime against humanity.

“This is not humanity, it’s greed in my opinion, by taking away the poor people’s living space like this by reporting like this, this doesn’t have a clear name. This means that they have really committed crimes against humanity, our economy has not existed for the past 1 year and 2 months “There’s no education for the children, there’s no health, whatever is guaranteed by the DKI Jakarta government or PT Jakarta Propertindo, to the public they’re just fine, they’ve received compensation and so on,” he said.

Furqon hopes that the report sent by JakPro to residents will be withdrawn. This, he said, was for the sake of humanity.

“If there is good faith and he doesn’t violate crimes against humanity, in my opinion the awareness should be revoked. If they don’t have awareness that this is a crime against humanity, they won’t revoke it,” he said.
