Residents Demand Increased Compensation for Ventilus Project Consequences

The decision has been made: high-voltage manager Elia and Flemish Minister of Energy Zuhal Demir (N-VA) will offer increased compensation to residents around the Ventilus project. High-voltage cables from wind turbines on the coast are pulled over a distance of 74 kilometers across various West Flemish municipalities.

Several residents complain about consequences such as disturbed vision, buzzing or possible radiation. Those involved previously requested that the cabling be buried underground, but Elia and the Flemish government did not want to respond to this.
