Jakarta –
Residents again blocked Jatikarya toll road which is part of the Cimanggis-Cibitung Toll Road section. Residents are asking for a solution to compensation for land acquisition that never ends.
The residents’ blocking action was carried out in early February 2023. This condition caused road access to be impassable, so that in the end some toll roads had to be temporarily closed.
General Manager of PT CCT’s Operations, Ribut, at that time the action was held at 10.35 WIB. The action to express aspirations was held regarding the Jatikarya toll road land dispute.
Residents held demonstrations into the night. The toll road section that was blocked by residents only opened at 18.05 WIB.
“The Cimanggis Cibitung Toll Road Segment, Cimanggis Junction-On/Off Ramp Jatikarya, both Route A (Direction of Cimanggis to Jatikarya) and Route B (Direction of Jatikarya to Jakarta) since 18.05 WIB have been able to be traversed again by toll road users,” said Ribut , in a statement to detikcom, Wednesday (8/2).
The Toll Party then cooperated with the Police to anticipate follow-up actions. Residents’ demonstrations then continued on March 22, 2023.
Residents again blockaded the toll road causing traffic jams. In the video, a number of motorists can be seen arguing with the demonstrators. Residents promised to pass motorists who will pass.
“I’ll pass one by one. That’s it… calm down, I’ll pass it later,” said a man in the video.
Tension also occurred between motorists and residents who blocked the road. The residents who blocked the road confirmed that the land they had blocked belonged to them which had not been paid to date.
At that time the blocking began at 16.30 WIB. The police also diverted traffic.
Residents who demanded a solution related to this land dispute for hours blocked the toll road for hours. The residents’ demonstration on the Jatikarya Toll Road finally broke up after more than 7 hours. The Jatikarya Toll Gate which was previously closed has finally reopened.
