It was a person who lives at the address who reported the fire after observing smoke, according to the police’s operations manager, Steinar Hausvik.
The emergency services received the message at 2205, and the police, health and fire services immediately moved out.
After a short time, the smoke spread in large quantities, and just before 2230 the police reported a full fire in the home.
At 2326, the fire service reports that the fire has been extinguished.

It was uncertain for a period whether there were any people inside the house, and the fire brigade started life-saving efforts.
This means that smoke divers enter the home immediately and search for people. After a short while, however, the police stated that they had accounted for all the residents, who had evacuated themselves.
They were treated by health personnel at the scene, and no injuries have been reported.
E39 was closed southbound at 2230 because the fire service had to use the road to work on the scene.
An hour later the road was reopened.
Good effect of the extinguishing
The duty commander at 110 West, Shahrooz Lahooti, informs BA that the fire service initially carried out a thorough search of the home to clarify whether there were any people there.
They then began the extinguishing work. They concentrated on the roof, as black smoke billowed out from there.
– They have started with extinguishing spears, which means that you stick a tool through the roof and turn on water. It works as a kind of sprinkler and has had a good effect, said Lahooti at 2245.
At that time there was no risk of spread to surrounding buildings. Three quarters of an hour later, the fire was extinguished.
Some smoke and water damage
The fire service’s incident leader at the scene, Jørn Davidsen, says that there has been some smoke and water damage to one part of the semi-detached house as a result of the fire.
– People probably can’t move in here tonight, says Davidsen to BA.
It is too early to say anything about the cause of the fire. The police’s incident leader, Tordis Myrseth, says that they have spoken to those who live at the address and others who were present when the fire broke out.
– Perhaps it brings us closer to an answer to what has happened. We will also carry out investigations at the hearth site now that it can be done.
