Residential Building Collapse in New York’s Bronx District: 2 Injuries Reported

A corner of a residential building in New York’s Bronx district suddenly collapsed. The rescue workers are on site and two injuries have been reported so far. The cause of the collapse is still unclear.

A multi-story apartment building partially collapsed in New York City on Monday evening. According to the rescue workers, two people were slightly injured. Around 30 families are affected by the collapse – according to media reports, the people were initially accommodated in a school.

The building, located in the Bronx district, was undergoing repairs to the facade at the time of the accident. The house, which was built in 1927, was used as a residential and office building. According to the fire department, there are 47 residential units and six commercial spaces.

The cause of the collapse is still unclear, as is whether other parts of the building are at risk of collapse.
