On Tuesday, we should see a new trailer for the animated film Resident Evil: Death Island, which was first presented in February. A few pictures though leaked in advance and it must be said that they are really interesting. Thanks to them, we learned that all the main characters from the original games, which still revolve around t-Virus and Raccoon City, will appear in the film.
So he will return to the scene in Death Island Chris Redfieldhis sister Claire Redfieldfurther on Leon S. Kennedy, Rebecca Chambers and also Jill Valentine, which Capcom “decommissioned” for a long time after RE5 (if we don’t count the remake of the trio). This is the first time ever that the entire main cast will meet in its entirety, for example Jill and Leon have never met in canon so far, despite both being quite important characters to the entire lore.
At the same time, it should be added that the animated films are a little behind compared to the games, which mostly take place in the year they were released. Thus, while RE8 takes place in 2021, Death Island is set in 2015 (between Resident Evil 6 and 7) and follows the previous animated film with the subtitle Vendetta.
According to the leaked poster, the film should have its premiere in Japan July 7th this year, but I would prefer to wait for confirmation until tomorrow, when we will hopefully also know the global premiere date, which may differ from the Japanese one.
