Launched with great fanfare in January 2017, Resident Evil 7 was shaping up to be the episode of change. Resolutely different from its predecessors, this adventure in the southern United States will have marked many players, but also disappointed some fans.
This very special episode will soon have the right to a successor. Capcom recently announced Resident Evil Village for next-gen consoles and will therefore have to make a choice. Will the firm return to the foundations of the series or will it continue its momentum? While we will have to wait a little longer before getting an answer, it is interesting to note that Resident Evil VII is today the best-selling episode in the history of the franchise (excluding cumulative remakes and remasters). As shown on the publisher’s list, this seventh opus is currently at 7.9 million copies sold, ahead of the second part by 0.7 million.
