Resident Evil 4 remake was chosen as Game of the Year for PlayStation no Golden Joystick Awards. In addition to the platform, the title competed in the general category (Ultimate Game of the Year), but the winner was Baldur’s Gate 3 – in 2021, Resident Evil Village won the award for best of the year at the same awards show.
In a video posted on social media, the producer of Resident Evil 4 (2023), Yoshiaki Hirabayashiand the director, Yasuhiro Ampo, thanked the community. “The original (Resident Evil 4, 2005) was a long-time fan favorite. The development team created the game [2023] under the constant pressure of fan expectations”, said the director. “With this award, the team feels that everyone really enjoyed the game.”
The DLC content Separate Ways (Distinct Paths) was mentioned, as well as a free update for users of PlayStation 5 which will be launched later this year with a first-person mode – will require the use of virtual reality glasses PlayStation VR2.

In other awards, the title was chosen as the best horror game of the year at Horror Game Awards and won the “Award for excellence” for its excellence in the Japanese market in Japan Game Awards 2023. The latest remake of the franchise will reach new platforms in December, when it will have versions for iPhone 15 Pro, iPad and Mac.
