“Resident Evil 4 Remake Virtual Reality: First-Person Gameplay Revealed in New Trailer”

The first gameplay footage from the VR version of Resident Evil 4 Remake were published by Capcom in a new trailer. Displayed during the event PlayStation Showcase, the quick scenes show how some of the title’s initial combats will work and also the new perspective, which goes from third to first person.

The virtual reality mode will be exclusive to PS5 and will be compatible with PlayStation VR 2headset that Sony launched in February this year. In the images, Leon carries a pistol in his right hand and a knife in his left, with individual recognition of commands enabling attacks with both weapons while enemies approach.

 

The defense, one of the novelties of the remake of Resident Evil 4, is also present. It is used in one of the most interesting ways in the game, to prevent an attack from the opponent carrying a chainsaw, and requires the player to use both hands to protect himself. The idea is to convey the feeling that the blow, to be repelled, requires more force than a common attack.

Of the rest, we have the beautiful ultra-realistic graphics that have already been praised in the common version of the game. In the VR edition, Resident Evil 4 is set to tell the full story of Leon Kennedy’s mission to a remote village in Europe, in search of Ashley, the kidnapped daughter of the American president. Other recent games in the franchise, such as Resident Evil 7 e RE Village also have modes in virtual reality.

For now, however, there is no release date for the additional content. Resident Evil 4 has been available since March of this year and, in addition to the PS5, the only one to receive the future VR mode, it can also be played on PC and Xbox Series X|S with the traditional gameplay.
