For fans of the classic survival horror franchise, Resident Evil 4 continues to be a game that holds a special place in their hearts. And with the upcoming remake of the game, players are eagerly anticipating new features and improvements that will bring the game into the modern era. One of the most exciting additions to the remake is the updated version of the Mercenaries mode, a popular extra mode that has become a staple of the Resident Evil series. In this mode, players take on hordes of enemies in a race against the clock, and it has become a favorite of many players. We’re thrilled to bring you an inside look at the revamped Mercenaries mode, coming to Resident Evil 4 on April 7.
Vincent Lade’s Jawbreaker is an upcoming stealth survival horror video game inspired by Outlast, Alien Isolation, and Resident Evil. It must not be confused with the film directed by Darren Stein. The game’s demo is already available on both Steam and itch.io, while its expected release date is Q4 2023.
The game is set in an alternate future in 2028 after the economic collapse of the United States, leading the average person to join armed groups to fight for supplies and territories in an event called “Awakening”. You will play as a member of a gang in New Citadel City, who needs to leave the bunker to scavenge for supplies. During your expedition, you will break into an untouched police station and face a life-threatening situation.
According to Vincent, Jawbreaker merges the oppressive atmosphere of Outlast, the stealth and combat of Alien Isolation, and the puzzles and inventory management of Resident Evil. The game will require you to use stealth tactics like throwing objects and hiding in lockers or under tables to survive, while weapons may attract unwanted attention. Additionally, the game will feature multiple endings to determine whether you are a true survivor or not.
Be sure to check out the game during Steam Next Fest in June.
In conclusion, ‘The Mercenaries’ mode truly adds a whole new dimension to the already thrilling ‘Resident Evil 4’ experience. With the upcoming remake set to launch on April 7, we can only imagine how much more challenging and exciting this iconic mode will be. Get ready to gear up and fight off waves of enemies as you aim for that high score with your favorite characters from the game. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to face your fears in one of the most beloved survival horror games of all time.
