It was just before 11pm on Monday evening that the shooting took place. The man was taken to hospital by ambulance, but his life could not be saved.
The deceased is already known to the police in criminal contexts.
– But we have no information at the moment that it is gang crime, says Robert Loeffel, press spokesperson for the South police region.
During the night, the police were on site at Gamlegården in Kristianstad with several patrols. The area was cordoned off and technicians were called to the scene.
– We are working to secure findings and traces while at the same time we have a search effort underway for a perpetrator. We are still very early in this operation and are working to get a picture of what happened, said Filip Annas, press spokesperson for the police during the night.
Residents are worried
Florentina Sulejmani lives and works in the area. She feels that it is not convenient to work in the evenings.
– It is a shame that such young boys pass away. But that’s also how society is today, it’s nothing strange. It’s a shame, sad and tragic, she says.
On Tuesday morning, the police confirmed that the man was dead. At the moment, there is no suspected perpetrator and currently no one has been arrested in the case.
The police are investigating a murder
Relatives have been notified and a preliminary investigation into murder has been initiated. During the morning hours, the blockades were lifted and the technical investigation was completed.
– During the day, the police carried out door-knocking in the area. The police’s mobile police station has been present with a mobile home to receive tips and witness information, says Robert Loeffel.
