THE MIND OF THE PEOPLE – For more than one year the world has been afflicted with the Corona virus or Covid-19Now, the latest news about the virus that was first discovered in the Bamboo Curtain country has shocked the world again.
The reason is, in a new study, researchers detected the Corona virus from a dog, in a swab sample obtained from a child Malaysia who was diagnosed with pneumonia in 2018.
However, research published Thursday 20 May 2021 in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases, cannot prove this.
Regarding whether the Corona virus in dogs causes pneumonia in children or whether other microbes are the cause, because the child was also found to be infected with rhinovirus, the virus that causes the common cold in humans.

The researchers said even if the canine virus did cause this patient’s illness three years ago, it is unclear whether the coronavirus could spread between humans.
This was conveyed by Dr. Gregory Gray is a professor of medicine, global health and environmental health at Duke University, and senior study author.
“How common is this (dog) virus, and whether it can be transmitted efficiently from dog to human or between humans, nobody knows,” said Dr. Gregory Gray.
