Researchers find 3,600 chemicals from packaging in people

More than 3,600 chemicals approved for use in packaging, kitchenware or food processing equipment have been found in humans. This is the result of one Study Swiss, American and Czech researchers under the leadership of the foundation Food Packaging Forum. The chemicals were found in blood, hair or breast milk.

Among the substances found are highly toxic Compounds such as PFAS, bisphenol, metals, phthalates and volatile organic compounds. The study examined approximately 14,000 chemicals approved for food contact. To do this, databases were checked and scientific literature examined for evidence of whether the chemicals had been found in humans.
