Research suggests that beef production could be increased by almost 40% through improved management strategies of establishments.

In Uruguay, cattle grazing occupies the largest single use of land, an activity questioned for its environmental footprint. Increasing the productivity of livestock would reduce this climate impact, improve the competitiveness of farms in the field and increase food production. According to a recent investigation, at the national level there is room for improvement in the management of the establishments and, with the available inputs (staff, area and workers), the production of beef could be increased by 39.7%.
