Research shows that more and more people are expected to die from this condition

New research shows that more and more men are at risk of dying from cancer. Things are expected to rise until 2050.

A study of 30 types of cancer in men published by the American Cancer Society analyzed men from 185 countries using population-based estimates and human development estimates across regions, based on income and expectancy- life

Quoted from CNN, the study concluded that by 2050, cancer cases among men are expected to increase from 10.3 million to 19 million, or about 84 percent. Death cases even jumped 93 percent from 5.4 million to 10.5 million.

“Between 2022 and 2050, in Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean, the number of cases and deaths is expected to increase 2.5-fold. In contrast, Europe is expected to see an increase of about half,” the researchers wrote.

The greatest increase in mortality rates was found in men aged 65 years and older, especially those who lived in areas with lower levels of development or human well-being.

The study predicts that countries with lower incomes and lower life expectancies are most affected. They are more likely to face increased mortality in male cancer patients.

Is this the trigger?

According to research, men show more risk factors and behaviors such as smoking and drinking alcohol. In 2020, it is estimated that 32.6 percent of men smoke, only 6.5 percent of women smoke.

Men are also more likely to be exposed to cancer-causing chemicals at work. In addition, more women-specific cancer screening programs prevent death than men’s cancer screening.

Of the types of cancer studied, lung cancer and prostate cancer are estimated to be the leading causes of cancer deaths among men by 2050.

The research says that in order to improve these numbers, it is necessary to push more for universal health care, encourage cooperation in the world of health care nationally and internationally, and to improve the current health care structure.
