TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA –– The results of the Indonesia Positive Women Network (IPPI) research show that 85 percent of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) are willing to accept Covid-19 vaccine.

IPPI activist Ayu Oktariani explained that the study was followed by 1137 respondents with HIV, most of whom were of productive age.

The majority are male and most are gay.

“Are your friends then willing to receive the vaccine? The result is that 86.5% of people with HIV are willing to receive the vaccine,” Ayu said in the virtual event Kompas Talk ‘Regional Strategy for Facing AIDS During a Pandemic’, Thursday (22/7/2021).

While the remaining 13.5% said they were not willing.

Ayu said that of the 86.5%, most had received the complete vaccine, but half of them did not have a vaccination schedule.

“Of the majority who are willing to be vaccinated, 354 or 31.1 percent have reasons for self-awareness. While others are following government programs and workplace regulations,” he explained.
