Research engineer in the elaboration of experimental measurements of meteorological observations

Your missions in a nutshell

Between measurement and scientific analysis, a first analysis and processing of the data is necessary, to eliminate any erroneous recordings, to transform the raw data into geophysical data when the sensor does not directly provide the quantity useful for scientific exploitation, or reformat the raw data and validate it.

The incumbent will be responsible for processing the measurements collected during the experimental campaigns carried out by GMEI, mainly using remote sensing measuring instruments (lidar, radar, radiometer) implemented by the LISA team. In collaboration with industry experts and in close collaboration with the LISA team, the incumbent will be responsible for developing innovative data processing channels, adapting to different campaign configurations and validating level 2 data.

The formatting of this data and related metadata must comply with international standards, in particular the FAIR principles. They will then be disseminated on AERIS research data centers.

The incumbent will participate in the evolution and development of the team’s analysis and processing tools, in particular graphical interfaces and visualization tools. The incumbent will also be involved in training the use of data analysis and processing tools for the various teams of the group.
