This document seeks to promote cooperation between development actors and research actors by evoking examples of research projects close to the action and the themes dealt with within the INRAE Val de Loire center on the forestry, poultry farming, sheep-farming sectors. goats, dairy cattle and more cross-cutting themes such as the soil and the environment.
Focused on application perspectives, this brochure does not claim to cover all the activities of the four sites (Orléans, Tours, Nogent-sur-Vernisson and Bourges) of the center which is structured around four scientific axes:
- Integrative animal biology and sustainability of farming systems
- Infectiology and “One Health”
- Integrative biology of trees and associated organisms, development of forest genetic resources
- Soil dynamics and environmental management
More generally, this work makes it possible to illustrate the particular capacity affirmed by INRAE from its origins, to articulate the integration of results of fundamental research with the pursuit of practical ends by acquiring the skills and research infrastructures adapted to these ambitions. .
Thanks to its experimental units and approximately 1,300 ha of experimental facilities, the INRAE Val de Loire center develops generic research and integrated and multidisciplinary studies, sources of innovation for better sustainability of natural resources and agricultural and forestry systems.
The success of interactions between research and development is strongly linked to the quality of coordination within INRAE between research units, experimental units or service units. It also depends on the ability to sustain a large network of partners by reconciling efficiency and pluralism.
