Research: 95 percent of corona patients still have complaints after six months | Inland

Longfonds director Michael Rutgers speaks of “a worrying picture. Once again it becomes clear how great the health consequences of this virus are. ” He thinks it is very important that the complaints of patients are visualized even better. “This patient group must be seen, heard and helped.”

Tired, short of breath, or headache

The vast majority (86 percent) of the people who participated in the study report that they are still tired 165 days after the first symptoms. Nearly six in ten (59 percent) are still short of breath, 36 percent still have chest pressure and 35 percent have a headache. It is striking that the percentage of people who indicate that they have muscle pain (40 percent) has increased slightly.

The vast majority of respondents (94 percent) were not in hospital because of corona. They had ‘mild complaints’. These are relatively young patients: the average age is 48 years. By far the largest group (86 percent) say their health was good before the corona infection. Six in ten (61 percent) had no underlying disease.
