Rescuers showed how they pulled a failed elk from a lake near Miory

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that on December 24 at 13:15, rescuers received a call asking them to help a moose that had fallen through the ice on Lake Sumovka near the village of Yanovo. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations went to save the animal.

The exhausted elk ended up not near the shore, but 40 meters from it, and could not get out on its own. “Eyewitnesses reported that the animal was driven onto the ice by hunting dogs. The ice on the lake is very thin, especially closer to the center, so the animal could not stand it,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

In order to pull the animal out of the icy water, rescuers cut a path in the ice and extracted the moose. “The animal was not injured, after suffering stress, when it came ashore, it caught its breath a little and ran into the forest,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

Earlier, Telegraf reported that residents of Braslav have long stopped clutching at their hearts if they see a live elk in the city or its environs. We’re used to it. Now a new video has arrived.
