Without a mother in Belitsa

He is leaving for Greece by the end of the month

The crying bear, left without a mother and placed in the park in Belitsa, stopped crying!

Dimitar Ivanov, director of the Dancing Bear Park, shared this with Bulgaria Today. His story is about the animal found in the yard of a villa in the Sofia village of Kostenets a month ago. After being alerted by the property owner, forest officials drove the bear back into the forest in the hope that it would be found by its mother. Later, the bear goes down by the villas again and climbs a tree, where it spends the night, and in the morning it is again in the yard of a house, where it eats sweet treats.

“At first, the bear cried all the time because it was alone, but now it calmed down and got used to it. The colleagues named him Nikola and they are very happy with him,” says Ivanov. According to him, although the animal already has a name and is a favorite of the employees, the bear is isolated.

“There is a special way of raising him – he must not see visitors, and the number of people who take care of him is also limited. While the bear is with us, we have two main duties – one is to keep him safe, which is not it’s very easy, because we’re still talking about a small animal, and the second thing is that it doesn’t get used to people,” says Ivanov. According to him, Nikola’s documents for Greece are currently being prepared and he is expected to leave by the end of the month. There it will learn to survive in nature, to be returned to the Bulgarian forests.
