Rescue operations in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region were completed today afternoon after yesterday’s rocket attack by Russian terrorists. Nine people were killed. My condolences to the families and friends.
This is what the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in his nightly video address, quoted by “Ukrinform”.
82 people were injured. Everyone is given the necessary assistance. Among the wounded has two children, boys, one of whom is in serious condition. His name is Mikita, he is only 11 years old, a student in the 6th grade. I wish a speedy recovery to all those who suffered from this yet another Russian atrocity.
There were several missile strikes. The second blow came when the rescue operation began. This is a deliberate decision by terrorists to cause the most pain and damage. Russia will bear the maximum responsibility for this – no matter how events develop, there must be sentences against the terrorists, the head of state threatened.
As usual, the president he also briefly reviewed his main contacts with foreign leaders during the day.
Today I spoke with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte and the key issue in our conversation was the protection of the people, the protection from the Russian occupiers. We discussed in detail how to strengthen our warriors on the front lines and provide greater security to our cities and villages, all over our land. We are preparing new defense packages and I am grateful to Mark personally and to everyone in the Netherlands – everyone who stands behind Ukraine. We are preparing to modernize our aviation with modern aircraft, and it is the Netherlands that can become a leader in the matter of F-16 for Ukraine. It is important that the Netherlands joined the G-7 declaration on our country’s security guarantees and we discussed how these guarantees can be concretized on a bilateral level. I have also invited Mark, Mr. Prime Minister, to participate in the summit of the Crimean Platform at the level of leaders, which will be held on August 23.
I had a meeting today on the content of our return policy, in particular with regard to Crimea and its reintegration. It is obvious that after the liberation of Crimea from occupation, there will be a return of economic opportunities, personal security of people and a sense of real freedom, which has not been there since 2014. But all this should not be just abstract – every detail of the deoccupation of Crimea should have a concrete meaning. How exactly does normal life return. What exactly does this mean for Crimea and for all our people. This should be clear to everyone. Step by step, we are making the deoccupation of Crimea more and more achievable and well thought out.

I spent today and meeting for the new school season – September 1st is coming soon. Parents and teachers have questions. There are various protective and preparatory shades.
